As we move through a month dedicated to Parkinson's Disease awareness, Doreen and I are excited to release episode 2 of You, Me, and PD!

A Time for Change

After receiving my diagnosis of Young Onset Parkinson's Disease, Doreen and I had to make a few changes. In this episode, we share what the path forward felt like after the diagnosis and share our experiences that highlight the impact of Parkinson's Disease on everyday living.

I worry that 'gender neutral' would devolve into masculine as default. A link woman wearing a 'man's' watch is seen link as a sign of empowerment, serious watch collecting, link good taste, or being 'not like other girls' (though I don't think that's what you're saying Cara!). A man wearing a 'woman's' watch is more likely to receive ridicule than praise… – Stl

Call me a wild-eyed zealot screaming into the link wind, but I place the original Citizen Aqualand link in the pantheon of great dive watches, alongside the first Fifty Fathoms, the Rolex Submariner, and the Doxa SUB 300. link When one looks at the arc of development of this most beloved genre of sports watch, it all began in 1953 and reached its culmination in 1985. Everything after that is mere wrist candy.Photographs by Gishani Ratnayake

The Take: Originally link developed in Germany in link the 1950s, perlon can be identified by its unique cross-weave pattern and single pass construction. An alternative to the more common NATO strap, a perlon strap offers a more lightweight and breathable construction. Where NATOs can sit thick and high on the wrist (hence James's famous solution), a perlon strap has a gossamer, feather-like quality that makes link for easy wearability on humid summer days.

Posted exactly 5 years ago today, this is the story of a man who found link a very valuable watch for less than six dollars at his local Goodwill thrift shop. Can you imagine? The watch was link later sold for an incredible profit and to this day it's a story that keeps many of us digging through thrift store bargain link boxes. Just in case.
